The restaurant is beautiful. The food is mediocre, and the service is pretentious and very lacking. We ordered the octopus, Florida snapper, arctic char, braised greens, and duck fat fries. We never got to try the braised greens or the fries, and after we reminded the waiter twice about them, they arrived after we finished our entrees. We didn't want the sides anymore. The octopus was very good, but the fish dishes were okay and certainly not memorable. This is another place in Miami to be seen instead of a place to really go for the food.

Loved our meal at Seagrape. We were staying at the Thompson, so it was a perfect choice for us to have a wonderful dinner. Drinks were good, although not very strong. I had a guave cobbler which was refreshing. We started off with a stuffed squash blossom and the kale salad. My salad was huge- would have loved two blossoms as it was so tasty! Our server recommended the Florida Snapper and the Whole crispy Snapper- I couldn't decide which I liked better as they were both wonderful. We ended with the Walk in the Woods dessert- a chocalolics slice of heaven on earth! Be prepared to dig deep into your pockets- but it was worth every dollar!

Michelle Bernstein is a goddess in my book, but she does not cook at Seagrape. That was obvious in the short rib that my daughter ordered. My husband and I took her to dinner there for her 13th birthday. I have 2 copies of Chef Bernstein's book at home, one of them signed by the author and dedicated to my girl. one of them being hers. In it, there is her recipe for short rib which I have adopted; it is just spectacular. Fragrant and flavorful and nothing like the Under seasoned dish that came to our table. To recap the meal, yes to the gougeres and the octopus. Skip the uni toast and the lobster ravioli. Definite no to the $39 short rib. My daughter barely touched it and asked to have it brown bagged as to not be rude. She said "maybe you could save it". The good was the crispy snapper that my husband ordered She also had an apple dessert that she like. The best part was the service. Attentive and personal, the waiting staff made a dent but didn't save the night - not at $400. One last thing was parking. We were charged $25. Not sure why. It was a Tuesday night and the rate was supposed to be a fraction of that. Disappointing. I will wait for Michy to re-open for a fix of MB's cooking.

Had high hopes for this place due to the chef, but unforately the experience wasn't a memorable one. friends tried to eat here on a Thursday night. The bar had no energy and the bar tender wasn't to quick to take our order. We were on time for our reservation, but had to wait another 30mins for our table, I expect his at a busy spot on a Saturday night, but this place wasn't busy. The food was good, not amazing. Manager was nice and greeted our table, but still high much higher expectations.

Our server Cassidy was awesome! We did our own tasting and our server recommend some really great signature dishes we needed to try. The timing on delivering from the kitchen to the table was on point and we didn't feel like we had to wait on anything. I can't wait to go back and eat some more you food.

Sat at bar and had kale salad and lobster ravioli apps, with a negroni. Fantastic.

The decor is perfect, the house music is fantastic, and the bartender was rad, but the service is some of the worst I've ever gotten and the food was mediocre. * We were asked to wait for a table in spite of having a reservation and many tables being open. * The server was dismissive and unhelpful at selecting a dish conforming to a restricted diet, bringing something that broke several requirements - I'm not sure if that or my daughter's suspect chicken (nearly bloody by the bone) is to blame for my present stomachache. I was surprised to see a mandatory 20% gratuity when I received the bill, but it explained a lot. * The service was slow and my daughter's requests for a drink were ignored three times. * The food was unexceptional -- I may be spoiled, but I've many times eaten better-prepared food for a fraction of the price. Kudos to the interior designer, music curator, and bartender. Otherwise it was an overpriced disaster.

From the moment you walk in the door you feel welcome. The attention to detail from the staff is very rare in Miami. The decor is sort of like Mad Men meets South Beach. 1960 retro. Now let's get to the food Lets just say that Michele Bernstein out did herself again Which it shouldn't be a surprise if you've been to her other restaurants. We ordered a Tuna Tartare and a grilled octopus with a sauce that you want to dive in it. Then the whole fish was very fresh and delicious with a side salad that we actually ordered extra. We went to the bar after the meal for an after dinner drink and met Eddie the bartender, whom we spent a long time talking about our love for bars. In sum, definitely coming back, not for just the outstanding food but also the staff that really make you feel like you're their most important guest

Was this a testing phase of the restaurant? The first round of drinks came out after the appetizers. The exorbitantly priced halibut came out cold. The chicken was ordered without bacon yet arrived with bacon, by the time the correct dish was delivered everyone had already finished. And the ambiance was nowhere to be found go to Matador or Cecconi's instead. I loved Michy's and even took a few cooking classes there but this was an embarrassment. Perhaps Bernstein's role should be more hands-on than advisory otherwise this restaurant will fail.

We were here past Friday evening. We just checked in and were eager to try this JB awarded restaurant. The food was good. Opted for Miami Spice offering..The flavor profiles were there however, service, not so much. He could barely articulate what the items/descriptions were when we had to drag them out of him. He over simplified the menu. Ignored us and we were bought a coffee/tea spoon for our soup. OK I let that pass, but when my napkin was taken and then not replaced when we had dessert? Also, our server was pretty much MIA we are not fussy people but I expect at least an minimal interest of the food you are serving if your restaurant has been JB awards. But then again, service becomes complacent when you are automatically given 20%. Whether or not you are given 15% of that or not I expect a seamless type of service..to be fair the manager did swing by but we didn't tell him about our service. Thats on us I guess. To top it off, at the end of our meal, the server literally swept by our table and plopped down the check and hurried off.. nothing else. Nada. Seriously? Rude. If we had opted for the regular menu and had this type of service? I would've flipped my lid. You really need to get your servers to a certain level here. VERY disappointed.

We were a large party and decided to order family style so we could taste as many dishes as possible. I can tell you that every dish was on point. This is not a five star restaurant nor is The Thompson hotel a five star hotel. The food was excellent within the context of the restaurant and setting. It was all fresh and very well prepared. The service was very professional and friendly. Seagrape is not intended to be a cutting edge Bernstein experience. This is good comfort food, well prepared and served in a casual environment. If you want a relaxed atmosphere with well prepared fresh food and good service this is your place.

We had a phenomenal meal - the zucchini blossom with shrimp and grits was a perfect spin on a traditional classic. Char was cooked to perfection. Our waiter Juan was very knowledgeable and helped us navigate the menu very well!

Truly delightful! Food was inspired and delicious. Service was excellent. Took my foodie friends there and they loved it. We had the crispy snapper which was crispy and flavorful - and the pasta with clams that had more clams than pasta - also delicious. Dessert was the Walk in the Woods - great chocolate treat, and the Panna Cotta which was nothing like the typical molded ind. This was a work of art, surrounded by fruit and light as air. I love that the seating is super comfortable and you're not sitting on top of another table. A real delight. Service was excellent.

This meal was perfection from start to finish. We started with the stuffed squash blossom and the heirloom tomato salad, which was the best we've ever had. Black truffles were incorporated into the burrata, which gave the entire dish a wonderfully earthy taste. Then we had the mushroom gnocchi and the florida snapper, both of which were recommended by our server, who was very knowledgeable. All of the dishes were well seasoned and balanced. We ended the meal with the Homestead Carrot Cake, which was essentially a deconstructed cake with cream cheese ice cream. Even though we were full from the meal and sort of ambivalent about getting dessert in the first place, we literally cleaned the entire plate. It was delicious! We can't wait to go back and sample more of the menu.

Seagrape is located in the Thompson hotel. The location is beautiful. The service, from the hostess to our servers, was attentive and friendly. We ordered the beet appetizer, snapper entree, and duck fried French fries. Everything was delicious. The portions are satisfying but are not large. If you are use to supersized portions, keep that in mind. The walk in the woods dessert is a definite choice if you love chocolate.

I'm from Miami. Born and raised. I stay on the beach for a get-away once in a while. Was waiting for my room to be turned over and decided to have a burger at Seagrapes. Honestly. 3star burger. Only problem is they forgot to take the paper from the cheese out of it before they cooked it. Unfortunately I have a strict policy against eating paper. Burger sent back. I wasnt able to eat w my friends and best of all, I paid full price! Well done Seagrapes and thompson. You won't be getting my service or recommendations.

Seagrape is living up to its hype. My dinner (served and eaten at the bar) included the light and delicate squash blossoms, lobster ravioli and grilled octopus (all small plates). The execution and flavors of the squash blossom and ravioli were perfect. The octopus was slightly dry but tasted excellent and was tender. My service was excellent. The cucumber gimlet was a perfect start. The service was really great and the staff very friendly. It's pricey but worth it.

Went for a date night with my better half. The venue is nice. We ate on the patio which was quieter than inside. Overall the food was above average, but not great. We had the tarragon salad and the ceviche to start followed by the fettuccine carbonara and the chicken cassoulet. Carbonara was very small (appetiser size) and nice but nothing special. The chicken tasted like good home French cooking but was a bit on the salty side. Service was ok, just that, ok. At the end of the night with a fine dining expectation, and a fine dining price tag, we won't be back. It's a weak 3 stars.

Fresh and simple! The way food should be. In for a weekend from NYC and her food stands up to my finicky standards. Wine list could be more diverse and have more depth, but a good meal all around.

I gave this one star because I couldn't give it zero. The service was fine (even if the waiter may have been on drugs- he was a frantic maniac) but the food was AWFUL! The oysters cost 28$ and tasted like off vagina. How do you mess an oyster up? We ordered the red snapper in the pla rad prik (a traditional thai dish of fried white fish in a sauce), they forgot the sauce I guess. We received a big weird foot shaped fish. Last, and definitely least, we had lobster ravioli that came out in 'coral foam' that basically looked and tasted like the ravioli had been accidentally dropped in dirty soap. Maybe their prices are so high because they know they cannot rely on people coming back. ps. This is my first yelp review but I had to do it. Not fair to other people.

I finally tried Seagrape tonight with four girlfriends and we had an amazing time! The restaurant is absolutely gorgeous with every detail thought ours. It was very busy but still cosy. We each had the Jungle Bear drink .. Or three.. which came in panda mugs :) the manager Zach was very welcoming from the moment we walked in and our waiter Cassidy could not have been friendlier! He told us all his favorite items on the menu - the Florida snapper was a huge hit and the dessert was out of this world! Thank you Seagrape - we will be back!

While nothing was truly bad, every dish had something lacking and left a lot to be desired. It's a beautiful setting and the service was great but not enough to overcome totally mediocre food at very high prices.

Excellent experience all around. Great food and great service. Must haves Foie Gras terrine, short ribs, 28oz bone in ribeye. The interior design and decor is outstanding as well. I don't have one negative. Love love love.

Service was A+, especially for South Beach: home of rude hosts/hostesses R' us. The food was... eh. The pea soup was 150% cream and the chef suggested we slurp it.. err... no. The snapper filet was divine but the desserts (we tried most of them) left us kind of wishing we had just gone to the Frieze instead. The decor is really cool - 60s go-go style with leaf prints and panels + cozy booths. If anything, drink or eat here so you can chill at the Thompson pools (there are 2) and have beach access, but leave the eats to Michelle Bernstein's other spots.

We had breakfast here during a recent vacation to Miami Beach. I ordered Eggs Benedict and a side of fruit. The fruit was deliciously fresh and I really enjoyed the creamy Eggs Benedict. I liked my cup of hot tea so much that our waiter gave me a complimentary tea bag in his favorite flavor so that I could try it later. This place has great food and great service!

I love this restaurant. The ambiance is great and the service is amazing. The Braised Short-Rip was very tasty and tender and the Guayaba con Queso Donuts is heaven in the mouth.

Great overall concept - HORRIBLE delivery! Good menu, great cocktails, decoration and ambiance. Horrible service(expected in Miami beach but don't overcharge service) the plates are very small and they have the nerve to charge 20% service charge! Overpriced and overrated-Spend your money somewhere else. #disappointing

We had two meals (breakfast and lunch) during our stay. In both cases the food was average at best. We had the eggs Benedict (eggs were not properly poached), egg white frittata then at lunch the club sandwich. Having eaten at another James Beard award winner the night before, it is difficult to believe this restaurant was of a similar pedigree. Service was great at breakfast but fell short at lunch due to the lengthy wait (30 minutes) for what was perceived as a simple meal.

M is for magic and Michelle. I have been following M. Berstein restaurants for a while now and have never been disappointed. I went on a modified vegetarian version of Miami Spice for this one and it was perfect start to finish. The host was witty, funny and all around pleasant which adds to the fun of the restaurant. The decor is this wild 70's type/romantic that works perfectly. Desert was an aphrodisiac disguised on a plate. Sheer enjoyment. Thanks for every last moment of it.

Went to lunch today with my husband and we had the Miami Spice Menu. Everything was wonderful the corn soup the steak the mussels the dessert just everything. I love the atmosphere. We asked the manager about the property and he actually walked us around the pool and hotel garden his was very nice and informative on other activities they have on the weekends. A great find on the beach with or without the Miami Spice menu it so worth it!!

Came for Miami Spice and it was totally worth it...they actually do what Miami Spice was meant to do: offer unique, tasty, and affordable cuisine. The decor is super Mad Men...and the service is superb. Two of us each ordered different things and shared...pear salad was nice, the tartin was divine. The fish dish was crispy on the outside and flaky on the inside. The churrasco was cooked medium to perfection and the lemon pudding was sublime...also the candy bar dessert was tasty...a bottle of rosé later and we're good to go!

There is no better way to describe Seagrape than this: medicore at best. My fiance and I went to celebrate our anniversary -- the hostess knew this and the restaurant did nothing to acknowledge our special occasion. This didn't really matter to us -- we came for the food as longtime Michy fans! We started with the "warm" gougeres which are really just balls of cheese-whiz with truffle. Warm was also an overstatement, as they were room temp when they were served. The bread basket was also pretty stale and offered nothing of interest....except for a totally random dish of pickled veggies. For our entrees, we opted for the short ribs and cioppino. The short ribs were fatty and flavorless...sad excuse for a dish with so much potential. The cioppino had great flavor but the shrimp were beyond baby-sized and the fish was slightly mushy. We got a couple glasses of wine which were the best parts of the meal -- likely because they weren't made in house. Overall, dinner was pretty gross and my fiance was immediately sick before we even got our car from valet. We expect more from our beloved Michy!

My family and I went to Seagrape on a Sunday night and we enjoyed our experience. See below for details or not and just ask for Jennifer and order the whole, fried snapper! Service: Jennifer was our server and she was excellent!!! I would recommend her every time! She is very personable and knows her stuff; one of the best servers I have had in Miami. Manager was amazing as well! Food: whole, fried snapper (too DIE for) lightly fried, not greasy. Amazing. My dad said it reminded him of fried lobster he had at a swanky restaurant in ATL. Brussel sprouts (amazeballs), the mussels were some of the best I've ever had mainly because of the sauce. Top your night off with the carrot cake and you might think you died and went to heaven. Ambiance: Seagrape is located in the new Thompson Hotel which is gorgeous. Decor in restaurant reminds me of old school Miami. They have nice outdoor seating and a fantastic bar. Restaurant was pretty slow, but it was a Sunday night at 9pm. Great ambiance to actually have a conservation!

I visited Seagrape for dinner on a Sunday. The restaurant is inside the Thompson Hotel in SoBe and offers a chic and retro ambiance. It honestly reminded me of my grandma's house, but in a good way! I have to say that there are many menu items that caught my eye, and I had a hard time deciding what to order. I had the beet salad which wasn't anything out of the ordinary. However, the short rib was quite delicious and I was able to cut it using my fork only. Despite its flavor, it lacked that je ne sais quoi. I also tried the gnocchi which was a very flavorful dish but didn't even taste like ñoquis. For dessert I got to try the carrot cake, which was warm and had a surprisingly crunchy garnish, the cheese and guava filled donuts were very sweet, and the lemon cake was my favorite dessert as it was moist and refreshing. This was definitely the highlight of my dinner. The service was exceptionally remarkable: our server pointed out the most popular menu items, water was constantly refilled, our table was cleaned after every course, and we never reused eating utensils. Additionally, our server was concerned about the restaurant's food quality. I was really impressed with the amazing service, which is worth a lot in Miami.

The food at Seagrape is amazing, but the prices are very high so I have to take value into consideration. A beet starter salad shouldn't cost $18. Entrees are in the high 30s unless you order pasta, and they presumptiously add not 18 but 20% gratuity, which always leaves a bitter aftertaste. Service wasn't even great, I had to waive our waiter over a few times as he was passing by, when he should have periodically checked in on us. The high prices and slow-ish service aside, the food is perfectly executed, delicious and beautiful to look at. The grilled octopus with potato foam is delicious. Foam on a plate never gets old for me, although the cool people think it's so 2000. The brussels sprouts and duck fat fries are great sides to share, the roast carrots got mixed reviews as they were very soft. We shared the whole crispy snapper as our entree, since the sides were fairly generous. The snapper is tail on, deboned and crispy fried, delectable. The coconut rice was fragrant but overcooked. Loved the Thai style slaw and dipping sauce that came with the fries. For dessert, I went against my instinct and did not order the guayaba cheese donuts. I wanted a spongy layer cake, something airy and light, after the fried snapper. The lemon pudding cake with meringue sounded great, but all of the elements were deconstructed on the plate. Don't charge me $12 and make me assemple my own spoon. What I got was a teeny circle of sponge topped with pudding. That in my book does not quality as cake. The meringues were bite sized cookies. While the plate was beautiful and the flavors well balanced, it was more piece of art than a dessert that makes me come back for more. I adore Michelle Bernstein, but I think opening a restaurant inside a hotel is almost always a recipe for mediocrity at best.

My mom and I are staying at the Thompson and decided to have breakfast. Although we received free continental breakfast( muffins, cereal, yogurt and fresh fruit) we chose to have some eggs and everything was delicious. I'm not really into frittatas but I got the avocado one and it was ok. The toast was heavenly though! The orange juice was the freshest juice ever! Overall, we were treated exceptionally well and service was like none other. I am so happy to be staying at an establishment that treats customers well.

This was my first time trying any of Michelle's restaurants and it was LONG OVERDUE! Came here for a very special day .. my Birthday .. and I couldn't have been happier with the choice! The place is quite casual, indoor and outdoor seating, yummy cocktails (including the one with the adorable panda bear glass), and delicious food! The winners of the night were definitely the Warm Gougères with jamon serrano and truffle fondue. Sadly we had the last order available so we couldn't ask for seconds :( Another must-try is the Whole Crispy Snapper (sans head) served with coconut rice and this amazing Thai-style slaw. At first glance seems like a pretty simple dish, but the flavors of each side were ridiculous! Needless to say, I will definitely make my way back here soon.

I don't really know where to start with this restaurant because that's how amazing it is. My review is for a dinner I had with 6 of my family members, and we ALL equally agreed on the opinion that's stated below. So, let's start with the service: The waiter was so nice and so helpful, all his recommendations were definitely worth it, so listen to them!! You could tell the people who work here truly support and love their food. For some reason, most restaurants on the beach have really rude waiters, which in turn ruins the vibe... But not this restaurant. So satisfied!! Next, the appetizers: We had the pork belly, tuna tartare, heirloom tomatoes, and this puff that had this cheese inside and this pesto sauce (that's the worst description but I forgot what it was called!) Every appetizer was top quality and SO tasty, but the key player here was definitely the tuna tartare and the pork belly. The pork belly was so crispy and definitely the best pork belly I've ever had because all the flavors on the plate just matched so perfectly. The tuna tartare was also another key player in the appetizers, it was SO fresh, no fishy taste at all. Next, the entrees: We had the mushroom gnocchi, short ribs, duck fat fries, ricotta ravioli, and the brussels spouts. I can talk all day about how amazing every dish was but what I really want to point out the gnocchi which was OUT OF THIS WORLD. You need to order it no doubt. Also, someone mentioned that the fries were soggy but I honestly can't even imagine that they were because ours were so hot and crunchy and fried to perfection. Lastly, THE DESSERT!!!: CARROT CAKE CARROT CAKE CARROT CAKE. This isn't your typical carrot cake that you can buy at the grocery store. It's warm with this crunchy topping, you'll never be able to have a regular carrot cake ever again. The pastry chef Max Santiago is so ridiculous. We also got the chocolate candy bar and it was the best balance of crunch and chocolate, wow. A lot of restaurants slack in their dessert menu which pisses me off and I'm so happy that that wasn't the case with this restaurant because what made this dinner that much better was that it was finished off with amazing dessert. Overall, clearly from my long review, you can tell that I would come back time and time again and definitely recommend it to every one of my friends.

It really pains me to give you less than five stars, Michelle, but this just wasn't as good as I remembered Michy's, or as good as I was expecting it to be, given a management group and your incredible talent. We came here on a Saturday night at 8:30 during high season and it was empty upon arrival. The restaurant does follow the old school, bright eclectic style from Michy's that I loved.. Aqua and yellow meets 80s style furniture and light but cool music plays in the background. It has a really different but great atmosphere, you don't get that SLS douchey feel here. No offense, Jose Andres, you still make my top three chefs of the world. I also heard that they are doing a 1930s theme on Fridays with a pop up of Sra Martinez.. kudos to you, Management group. We did have a delicious bottle of white wine, and there was a knowledgable sommelier to help us pick one. This has always been the case in Michelle's restaurants, so she neither earns a point not loses one here. We ordered the ceviche appetizer that was not as good as the Michy's ceviche we have loved. The fish had clearly been marinated for much less time, and there were no choclo or sweet potato chunk. Everyone at the table was disappointed by this dish. I am allergic to tuna, so I cannot speak on behalf of this dish, however, it was passed around quite a few times before someone just finished it for the sake of clearing the plates. There was however this EXQUISITE appetizer of cheese fondue beignets. Wow. What an explosion of flavor and deliciousness. We also ordered the octopus. This was very well cooked and very good. As our last appetizer, we had the lobster ravioli. I was not that impressed and would not order this again, even though it was recommended by our waiter. When a waiter at a restaurant like this recommends a lame dish like lobster ravioli and its not delicious, it leaves a bad taste in my mouth, pun intended. Our mains consisted of braised short ribs and full fish. I do believe they deboned the fish for us, so kudos for that. The braised short rib was also delicious and we finished our whole plates. I would definitely come back, I would just like to be wowed. I will definitely try CENA before coming back to seagrape.

I had an absolutely phenomenal experience that in my book, puts this restaurant on par with the Bazaar and the Forge for one of the best dining experiences in the city. It's a nice but casual experience. They're sufficiently laid back in energy but appear to pay special attentions to all the service elements that make for a smooth enjoyable night out. We had oysters, truffle burrata and some amazing pastries with a truffle fondue and Serrano ham that really stole the show. For entrees, we had a boubaillse (pardon spelling) and lamb prepared two ways. Desert was warm carrot cake and a "candy bar" item, both of which were delightful. Overall, I'd enthusiastically recommend Seagrape as an important part of any upscale Miami dining rotation.

I ordered breakfast from Seagrape while relaxing at the pool (Thompson Miami Beach). Guest is able to purchase food from Seagrape and charge it to your room. I had traditional benedict (black forest ham, poached eggs, hollandaise sauce, English muffin, & potato hash) and bourbon-vanilla French toast (brioche, blueberry compote, & seasonal berries). I really enjoyed the benedict; everything was cooked well and flavorful. The French toast was delicious as well. Overall, I enjoyed my breakfast from Seagrape. I will dine at the actual restaurant during my next visit to Miami.

Very overpriced for the quality. Definitely not amazed by the food. The staff is friendly! There's a service charge and gratuity is added in bill. You can find better food other places but the atmosphere is nice.

Service and food are great. No wait during Saturday lunch and there is both indoor seating and an outdoor patio facing the pool. Their Miami spice deal is amazing, for $23 we got a 3 course (all full portion) meal. I got grilled octopus as an appetizer which was charred perfectly while still keeping the juiciness of the octopus. The seared salmon as my main was also cooked well. My friend got the corn bisque (which is served as a cold soup rather than warm) and strip steak which were both delicious. We then got ice cream and key lime pie dessert as mains (would recommend the key lime pie over the ice cream as it is more unique). Well done Michelle Bernstein!

I wanted so bad to enjoy this meal, but unfortunately we experienced bad service and bland food - although to be honest, the bad service probably biased my opinion of the food as nothing we had was specifically bad. We had been excited to experience a Michelle Bernstein spot for so long, upset we never made it out to Michy's before it closed. When the Thompson with Seagrape opened up, we knew we would make it over eventually. Upon arrival everything was fine, the staff was even kind enough to honor a request to change table when we were first seated in a bad corner table behind a large pillar. The decor inside is beautiful, upscale, and a casual throwback to the 50s or 60s. We had three different staff come and assist us, only discovering at the end that the first woman was in fact our server, Jennifer, but was not who took our order. We had some east & west coast oysters which weren't that great, but the shrimp were fresh and large. The warm gougeres bread stole the show and was hearty, warm, cheesy, and delicious. I orders the agnolotti but to my dismay was brought the snapper, after an extremely long wait. I was too hungry and annoyed by the wait to send it back. The fish was flavorful for what it was, the Asian dipping sauce saved it from the overwhelming fried oil taste. My boyfriend said his burger was amazing, and it must have been because he never offered to share a bite:0 We skipped out on desert as we were ready to just get out of there, being sat for nearly 2.5hrs. I really hope it was just an off night, as gauging from all the reviews we must have just had a weird experience. Nonetheless, we can't wait to hit up Cena.

Have to say I came with high expectations to seagrape, being a Michelle Bernstein restaurant... I was disappointed... Service was incredibly slow (and the place was far from full), our waiter was not rude but food took forever to come and, when it did, we were not impressed at all: The only plate worth recommending was the tuna tartar appetizer, everything else was regular: my wife got the chicken which was normal, I had the duck which, asides from the fact that it took 45 minutes to arrive, was not good and the portion was incredibly small (even for a "fancy" restaurant)... Drinks were alright and well prepared. The place itself is beatiful.

Fantastic addition to Miami Beach restaurant scene. Bravo, Michelle Bernstein. I recommend any of the pastas to start. We had the simple tomato sauce and parmesan garganella and the clam sauce. Both were delicious. As for mains, everything looks amazing and, as Ms. Bernstein is famous for, "farm to table." Steaks were amazing and both snappers were delicious. Great wine list, very helpful sommelier. Highly recommended!!

Seagrape was very good but not amazing. The bread was ok. The kale salad and wedge salad were very good and were good size portions for being starter salads. I got the short rib which was cooked well and fell apart but felt like it was missing something. My wife got the ravioli, my dad got the full fried snapper and my mom got pasta. All good, no complaints, but it didn't wow. They had duck fat fries that just didn't compare to Bourbon Steak's. The dessert was really good. We got the candy bar and it was delicious. The coffee was just average. I'd definitely go back but I'm not in a rush.

Not a good value for the money. I dined with a good friend and we found the plates awkward and confusing. Maybe they are too fancy or trying to be complex but the end result wasn't joy. Unfortunately wouldn't recommend. The quality of food is good but the pairings and offerings are a bit much.

First time at Seagrape and I must say, the food was absolutely amazing! From the appetizers, puff pastry with melted cheese and prosciutto and oysters to dinner, loved the short ribs and pork!! BUT save room for dessert because it is excellent!! We were a party of 6 so we ordered a few. A MUST Try is The guava and cheese donuts, Awesome Carrot Cake, chocolate fudge cake. These desserts also had a small serving of special flavored ice cream made in house. We got to meet Max the Pastry Chef and the creator of those amazing desserts!!!

Blown away with this Michelle Bernstein concept! The food was incredibly fresh, inventive, and executed to perfection! You HAVE to get the Agnolloti and the Gnocchi's - life changing! We came in knowing the pastry chef is a bit of a superstar in the Florida food scene and oh my god...... SPEECHLESS. These are hands down THE best deserts in any South Florida restaurants, above and beyond even the infamous Hedy Goldsmith backed Michael's Genuine. Service was impeccable as well. From a fellow foodie and traveler, trust me, you need to come here.

Sea grape turned out to be a sour grape for us. This picked up right where the last few visits to Mishys turned out for us. Disappointing frustrating and expensive. I was Leary of going but my good friend Michael Love who is the specialty chef at Epicure insisted that it was fabulous. So knowing he is a great chef and knows good good when he sees it I take the gamble. Oyi what a mistake it turned out to be. First we walk in and the place is half empty. My rule is great restaurants are never half empty but I wrote it off to being a week night and the restaurant is new. Next was the flat bread it was so stale it was unchewable. Rule number two, crappy bread equals crappy food. Should have got up and left. So here we go, table of 4. We start with tuna hamachi tartar. Super spicy , goes back. My kids like spicy but they couldn't eat it. I order octopus and if you've ever read any of my reviews you know I love octopus and know good octopus. I order it with no pepper or paprika. Comes out smothered in paprika. It goes back. I switch to the Foi gras tourine, perfection and the only reason I'm not giving this place minus two stars. They send the octopus back out on the house. Nice gesture but still had paprika all over the dish. I eat some of the octopus. Good quality but had no CHAR!! It was so tender it was mushy. Octopus has to have a little Char on it so as not to be mush. Octopus should never be chewy but when it's really tender it must have CHAR!! Otherwise it's just mush. Next app was lobster ravioli so bad had to spit out. Something spoiled there, that goes back. Wife had kale salad which she liked. Now. For entrees. My youngest daughter ordered pasta. She said it tasted like the sauce was from a jar bought from publix. I tasted it and she was right. For 21.00 for 6 noodles and publix no frills sauce this dish is a complete rip off. Wife orders skirt steak. Chewy and gamey it goes back. Brussels sprouts so sweet they were unedible, they go back. Short ribs two big chunks of fat and grease. They should have gone bk but was getting embarrassed sending everything back. My daughter wouldn't eat it. My Article Char was good nothing great and certainly not worthy or Mrs Bernstien's reputation. My wife was so frustrated she said just give me another kale salad for my entree. When the waiter brought it out she looked at him and said oh just what I wanted for my birthday dinner. So we finish our sucky dinners and the bus boy who was a gem the whole night came over and asked if we wanted desert. I tried whispering that it was her birthday. Mind you I put that in the special request box when I made reservation on open table. Then the waiter came over who also was a good guy asked if we wanted desert. Well my daughter just lost it and blasted him and said it's totally inappropriate to ask if we want desert on someone's birthday night. We all said the night was ruined and just get us a check so we can get the hell out of here. Meanwhile with just about every dish going back you would think a manager would come over to see what was going on. Nope!! So as the waiter was handing us the bill he puts dn a desert with a candle in it. Totally inappropriate again!! Don't hand us the bill with our desert!! My wife just looked at us and as a desperation attempt I started to sing happy birthday. I got a look that sent physical shivers up and down my spine. So stopped singing immediately and paid the bill. This restaurant is a rip and not worth a fraction of what it cost to eat there. Mrs Bernstien has joined my no fly list along with Mr Mina. I am tired of going to these celebrity chef places and getting crap food for exorbitant prices.

I decided to try this new spot during Miami Spice lunch special. The place is very nice, the inside is very stylish and has outside patio as well which is very nice. The menu was simple, but the food was tasty and very well presented. Service was good. The best part was the sweet treat, the Key Lime Pie Brule, unique and delicious. The drink menu is very interesting. Steak and pork tenderloin was good and the octopus was definitely excellent. The Miami spice lunch was a very good deal in this place, variety, quality and portion sizes were more than worth the price. It was a good experience, I would definitely comeback. It will be good to check the night ambiance and the regular dinner menu. Maybe is where the hidden gem that I could not find is.

The hotel is super adorable & so chic. I love Michelle Bernstein's Michi restaurant & was so excited to go to SEAGRAPE but it didn't live up to Michi. The food was okay nothing spectacular, I had the crispy snapper but it really wasn't crispy (disappointed). The service was fancy but they weren't on point, it was four of us & the waiter got my friend's meal mixed up & she got her food 10 minutes later than the whole table. Her boyfriend wanted white wine for his fish & the waiter brought it like 10 minutes into the meal. Then dessert the guava donuts so yummy & we ordered coffee too but the dessert came first & the coffee way after we had finished the dessert. That didn't make sense. Also the waiter was over charging us putting the wrong menu item on our bill. Not sure if I'll be returning.

Not a fan of this restaurant. The food was okay but given the price I needed to drop a star for value. I had the foie gras and the kale salad. The kale salad was desperately in need of salt. The accompaniments to the foie gras were so extremely overpowering that I couldn't taste the lovely foie gras flavor I was craving. I order foie gras whenever I see it on the menu and this was just over adorned and probably the worst I've ever had. That being said, service is good here and it's nice to sit outside. The brioche is also killer. Maybe it's okay to come here, just don't get tempted by the foie gras.

Great new spot at south beach. The only negative was the reservation procedure. We through we would never get a table. Turns out they had a few openings and we got right in. Food was 5 star.

Dirty wine glasses, soggy fries, chewy burger, undercooked chicken and - overpriced. Not recommended. I only give it two stars because of the decor and ambience. Good place to have a drink.

Ate breakfast here while staying at the Thompson. The food was superb. Exceeded our expectations. The Kale, spinach, pineapple and Apple with yogurt smoothie was especially good. Be sure to give it a try for breakfast. Will definitely come back when in Miami Beach again.

This is a great little gem located inside the beautifully restored Thompson Hotel, set right on the beach. We visited for brunch during one of the restaurant's opening weeks, and--though they were still working through some rather minor growing pains--we can't wait to be back. First of all, the setting is lovely. The dining room is decked out in a tasteful MiMo throwback decor, matching nicely the original architecture of the hotel. The back area, with a lounge area, pool, pool bar, beach access, and the (soon-to-open) "1930s House" is gorgeous and understated. I can't help but compare it to the Fontainbleau, but on a much much more human scale. The food is pricey, but it's the Beach, so that's to be expected. Fortunately, in our experience, both the cocktails and the main dishes we had aspired to the high-end fare we were paying for. And the service was amazing; attentive, warm, and obliging. Our server Shayla was extraordinarily personable, and it was wonderful chatting with her about the new space and the menu. The brunch cocktail list was pretty extensive (maybe 14 special offerings), ranging from about $14 to $18. Pricey stuff, but when the cocktails are as good as ours were, it's kind of hard to complain too much. There was an astounding attention to detail here: a drink called the Jungle Bear arrived in a glass shaped like a panda. And both drinks came with probably artisan paper straws. The bear glass was cute (not all grown men drinking out of this vessel may feel the same, however), if not totally practical, and the paper straws wilted after a few minutes immersed in the cocktails. So maybe Seagrape could try a little less hard in this arena. Still we really enjoyed our drinks. We also ordered the Florida snapper ($27) and the house burger, done to a perfect medium ($20). Both were excellent. I especially enjoyed the "rice-cake paella" beneath the snapper filet, and the burger was cooked d***-near perfectly. For $20-something entrees, the dishes are a bit small. The burger came with frites, at least; the snapper (aside from the rice cakes and sauce) was served by its lonesome. Still, for brunch, two entrees were more than enough for two adult diners. (Note to Seagrape: the tiny slice of green tomato on the burger was pretty paltry. And a $3.00 surcharge for bacon: ok. But NOT for sauteed onions. C'mon!) Because this is the Beach, gratuity is included on the bill. Also, parking is impossible. But the valet is only $5. Score! IN SHORT: This is a great new addition to the Miami culinary scene and is definitely worth seeking out, especially for brunch, when prices are lower and the beauty of the outdoor dining space can be fully appreciated. And the 1930s House is opening this week: they'll be serving tapas and a whole separate menu of craft cocktails. We can't wait to check that out!

We stayed at the thompson and ate breakfast here on our first morning in miami. And I was not impressed at all with the menu or how the food tasted. I have been looking at the pictures for weeks on instagram at the resturant and it disappointed me when I actually saw and tasted the food. I will say the service was good but the food disappointed.

Great variety of options and staff was very attentive. For lunch I orders 2 appetizer a main course as well as dessert and coffee. Besides the food being great the decor and vibe of the hotel is relaxed, retro and hip. I will be back for dinner.

I am a big fan of Michelle Bernstein so I had been eagerly waiting for the opening of her new restaurant. The restaurant is located in the newly renovated Thompson hotel. The restaurant is nicely decorated to fit the Florida Botanical theme. For appetizer we had the Octopus which was cooked to perfection with a well balanced vinaigrette. For entree I had the Crispy Florida Snapper sitting on a paella rice cake. The skin was amazing, I usually do not eat the skin but the skin added great texture and added to the snappers delicate filet. We also had the Skirt steak which took me by surprise. The steak was tender and flavorful and I ended up switching plates because I have never had such a tender and flavorful steak and that is saying a lot. I ordinarily do not order steak, but this was special and later learned that the meat is from a local family owned cattle company. For dessert we had the guava and cheese donuts. They were delicious, filled with a perfect amount of guava and cheese and served warm. The restaurant also has a beautiful patio area which overlooks the pool and lush landscaping. The service was exceptional and the manager came over to inquire about our food. We have followed Michelle Bernstein in all of her establishments and inquired about beloved Michy's opening and it is definitely in the works. Looking forward to my return for brunch.

Lemon ricotta blueberry pancakes. That's pretty much the only reason I need for an instant 4-star review, right? Oh, okay, you want some more? There's the cool ambiance inside a just-as-cool hotel, The Thompson. There's some nice outdoor seating if you want some of that Miami warmth. And there are plenty of other great choices on the menu...it took me a while to decide what to have for breakfast, even with the lemon ricotta blueberry pancakes.

I went to Seagrape last night for the 5th time. I am a Miami Beach resident and I'm very excited for the recent restaurant additions to the beach. Seagrape is one of my favorites. The food is truly spectacular and the service is always amazing. We ordered delicious West coast oysters to start with a bottle of champagne and shared two pasta entrees. I personally love the agnolotti as it is a lighter but tasty dish. Finished off our dinner with a frozen yogurt angel food cake dessert with more champagne. Our server was Cassidy who oddly enough always ends up being our server. He is the best! Extremely knowledgeable of the menu which is very helpful. Will definitely come back again.

Chef Bernstein does it again! The newest addition to Miami Beach, located inside the newly renovated Thompson Hotel, Seagrape by Chef Michelle Bernstein is sure to make a buzz. All local produce is used to create this Floridian brasserie. The dining area is open with mid-century style furnishings that complement the architecture of the building. The outdoor area is right next to pool, very relaxing and comfortable, perfect for an intimate evening or conversations with friends. Our servers name was Jesse and he was wonderful, very genuine and friendly. Since the menu was new to me, we decided to have the chef tasting menu to get out of our comfort zone and we were not disappointed. Here are some of the items we got to taste; Spicy Tuna & Hamachi Tartare sesame seeds, scallion salad, rice & prawn crackers Cobia Ceviche Oysters Warm Gougères 10 ( serrano ham, truffle fondue, sherry glaze) Roasted beet salad Stuffed Squash Blossom (shrimp mousseline, corn grits, corn emulsion, aleppo peppers, seafood nage) Warm Forest Mushrooms & Parisian Gnocchi (foraged mushrooms, wilted greens, 64° egg, crispy sage) Lobster ravioli Braised Short-Rib (cornbread foam, brussels sprouts, pickled pearl onions, red wine jus) Whole Crispy Snapper (coconut rice, Thai-style slaw, nam phrik, served head-removed) Dessert Berry Angel Food Cake (lemon-grapefruit curd, soft and crisp meringue, micro blossoms, frozen yogurt) Walk in the Woods (dark chocolate semifreddo, pistachio, local citrus, extra virgin olive oil, sea salt) Seagrape is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Make sure to visit Chef Bernstein, as always, she won't disappoint you!

ehhh...not great food. Unless you want to chew on a kale salad bite for 10 minutes I really don't recommend it. The people are super nice and the restaurant is super beautiful. Go for a date, its romantic but steer clear of the Kale salad:)

We went for dinner last saturday night, the service wasn't great but the food was so good we came back for lunch the next day. On sunday we had the best service (I believe our waiters name was Yohan). He trecked all around the hotel to find the wine i was looking for and was so sweet to us. Cant wait to go back!

I hope it wasn't an anomaly, especially for dining in Miami Beach, which can often be an overpriced crapshoot, but our recent experience at Seagrape was superb. From the greeting by the nice hostess to the on the ball affability of our waitperson, Jessica, to Michelle Bernstein's innovative cuisine, everything was excellent. My wife had the crispy whole snapper that was perfect and my entree was braised short rib, like buttah. The sides were great and the cocktails were adult-sized. The Thompson Hotel is restored to it's Miami Modern architectural roots with a bright, modern twist. Grounds are lushly landscaped with many natives and the pool looks delicious. Top it off with a handy locstion in mid-Beach and $5 validated parking (a plus on the pricey ocean) and you can't go wrong at Seagrape. Go Michy! Highly recommended.

I want to be friends with Michelle Bernstein so I can attend dinner parties at her house and have dishes like the ones I tried at Seagrape. Every single dish was spectacular. I went with one other friend, and we started off with the Stuffed Squash Blossom and the Spanish Octopus a la Plancha. WOW. The squash blossom paired shrimp with corn grits for a bright dish that didn't feel too heavy, without sacrificing any flavor. Octopus was grilled perfectly and was not at all chewy or plain. Then came the Warm Forest Mushrooms & Parisian Gnocchi - they were the creamiest gnocchi I have ever tried, ever. And of course the fried egg on top was the icing on top of the (truffly and amazing) cake. The Florida Snapper with chorizo and sofrito broth is also a must have. The lightness of the fish was balanced perfectly with the meatier chorizo. No room for dessert but by the time the meal ended we were singing praises. Now, ambiance - it is in South Beach, so the upscale, trendy decor was to be expected. The bar area is big and looked like a good place to meet for drinks. The dining room is also large; I went on a Saturday night and it was totally packed and pretty loud, but not so much that it was hard to hear. If you're going during the weekend, make sure you make a reservation!

Enjoyable meal. I was dining solo, so I ate at the bar and the bartender was friendly and attentive. I wasn't very hungry so I had a couple of apps...the spicy tuna tartare (outstanding) and the octopus (very, very good). Also had the walk in the woods dessert. Interesting presentation and tasty, but as a chocolate lover, I wasn't totally wowed. Wines by the glass selection was pretty good. All in all, an enjoyable dining experience.

Yes, five stars. The service, the ambiance, the food, the wine was all superb. I waited two long months to enjoy a nice night out and meal after having baby number 2 and I was not disappointed. We sat outside (perfect weather) and enjoyed a nice bottle of wine (a blend, Alta Vista, that was on special)...the stars just aligned for us last night. We started with the ceviche (tastebuds woke up!) and I had the Florida snapper (tastbuds went into overdrive!). The paella cakes and chorizo sofrito just took the dish to a whole other level. My husband loved his pork chops because of the couscous...ridiculously good. We ended with the "Walk in the Woods" dessert. Oh wow...the presentation and texture and taste of this dessert was something out of a culinary show. The salted chocolate with olive oil coupled with a little sponge of pistachio (best way to describe this masterpiece) was a perfect way to end this delicious meal. We walked over to the bar in the back, 1930's House, and enjoyed more drinks and Cuban artists playing great music. What a perfect night.

The bread was just okay. The servers are very professional and knowledgable about their menu. I ordered the east coast Ostler where 5 stair I also ordered the Florida Shaper. It was cooked perfectly the flavor was out of this world. So all and all I will be back.

Disappointing. We showed up for a 7:00 reservation and led to what had to be the worst table in the house despite the fact that they were about 20% full. The table was wedged in the corner and had multiple electrical cords coming down from the wall right next to the table - somewhat of an odd focal point. We asked to move and to their credit they were accommodating and very eager to make it right. Still, it felt insulting to be led to that table in the first place. The octopus appetizer was good, but nothing remarkable or noteworthy. The chicken was tasty as was the fried snapper, but nothing to come back for...Brussel sprouts were described as AMAZING - I would have to disagree. And they didn't arrive with entrees - we had to ask for them. The Walk in the Woods dessert was tasty, but a bit all over the map and not a cohesive dish. Overall, a pleasant evening, but we would not feel compelled to return.

Awful experience all around. Sever didn't know anything about the menu. He couldn't describe nor did he know what was on the menu. Cold and raw strip steak when it was ordered medium, red snapper was not edible and pasta dish was watery and had no taste. Sent all three entrees back and left. All removed from bill. Still charged for the side of fries, paid full price for bottle of wine AND charged 20% service charge. Manager didn't care enough to even offer us a drink. We were hotel guests of the Thompson as well.

We came here for our anniversary and were looking to indulge in a fantastic, fulfilling meal. The restaurant is beautiful, we sat outside under the bistro lights. The setting is gorgeous. The bussers who came with water and bread were wonderful, so pleasant and happy to be there. Our waiter, Mohamed, left a little more to be deserved with his service. We ordered drinks (which were fantastic), gougeres & ceviche for apps. My husband has an awesome salmon and I ordered a mushroom gnocchi. For dessert, he ordered the carrot cake and I ordered the lemon cake. Everything was wonderful, but the ceviche was by FAR my favorite plate. We get the check and we see that we were slipped a $40 dessert platter that we hadn't ordered. We're laid back diners, we don't ask annoying questions, or make our servers jump through hoops... don't know if that made it look like we're novice eaters or don't have the smarts to check our bill, but once we alerted our server he took it off and didn't charge us for one of the desserts as a show of apology. Overall, I would definitely come back again. The location is beautiful, the food is delicious, and despite our hiccups, the service was great. Come on a weekday!

Went to this restaurant on Tuesday night mostly because of Michelle Bernstein's reputation. It's new and getting tepid reviews but I decided to try it anyway. Very underwhelmed. Bernstein has done much better in the past. I started with the pork belly. It was OK. This is a high caloric dish that I don't usually permit myself. I wanted it to be to die for but it wasn't. I had the gnocchi with wild mushrooms as a main and it was dull. My husband had the octopus and it was uninspired. No char, not real tender and we did not feel the love. Kitchen was slow but the waitress was very sweet and professional. I wish I could remember what else we ate but it was all pretty forgettable. With so many amazing restaurants in the neighborhood this is merely tolerable hotel food.

"OK" best describes the food. Very disappointing. The space & the service were both great, but they need to rise to the expectations of their guests, to the prices they charge & to the caliber of its Chef. Really wish I could have shared a more positive experience.
